Luận Văn Thạc Sĩ Using Visual AIDS To Teach English Grammar At Tan Phu High School In Ho Chi Minh City

Teaching English grammar to high school students with visual aids is not a peculiar problem to many teachers. Exploring the actual practices, collecting opinions about the actual practices of teaching English grammar in the different teaching resources, and finding out the ways to improve the teaching of English grammar in high schools are what the thesis aims at. The study is an exploratory one, using quantitative figures with the assistance of qualitative data. It employs two questionnaires with the participation of 89 students and 6 teachers from Tam Phu High School in Thu Duc District and the open-ended interview 6 English teachers. The first questionnaire asked teachers different aspects of teaching difficulties following with relevant solutions, audio-visual aids, and their attitudes and evaluations when using them. Teachers have a chance to accentuate their deeper thinking behind visual aids utilization. The second questionnaire asked students about learning difficulties and their attitudes regarding to visual aids in English lessons.
