    Adapting Children Songs In Teaching English Vocabulary To Elf 3rd Graders - Students’ Self-Reported Level Of Motivation And Lexical Learning
    This study explores the impact of adapting children's songs in teaching English vocabulary to 3rd-grade EFL students, with a total of 80 students divided equally into two classes 3A and 3B at a primary school in Vinh city, focusing on students' self-reported level of motivation and lexical learning. Over one month, instruction was delivered through seven lessons concentrating on vocabulary learning using children's songs centred on the topics of "toys" and "foods." Data collection methods, including observation, questionnaires, and reflection, were employed to address the research questions. The results indicate that students exhibited high levels of excitement and enthusiasm when engaging with adapted songs. Furthermore, the use of songs not only boosted students' interest and motivation but also significantly enhanced their ability to retain and recall vocabulary. Select age-appropriate, familiar, and engaging songs, incorporate interactive elements, consider students' learning styles, and encourage active participation to enhance vocabulary retention and language proficiency when adapting children's English songs for vocabulary teaching.
