Những Nguyên Nhân Gây Lo Lắng Trong Học Kỹ Năng Đọc Tiếng Anh Chuyên Ngành Y Tại Trường Cao Đẳng Y Tế Thanh Hóa​

The present study was conducted to answer the questions: Why do most students suffer from anxious and stressful feeling while reading English for Medicine texts? What makes them have that kind of emotions? The author took a sample of 146 second year students at Thanh Hoa Medical College. Data from the questionnaire and semi-structured interview were analyzed quantitatively and qualitatively. The study confirms that the students were anxious in EMP reading classes. There were two aspects of EMP reading anxiety: Personal factors and text feature factors. Worrying about reading effects and unknown vocabulary are the most frequently causes of anxiety under the aspect of personal factors and text feature factors, respectively. After the investigation, some solutions are proposed to partially reduce anxiety and discomfort among students in their EMP reading lessons, and gain their motivation. Implications and recommendations for further research were considered.
