    The Use Of Scaffolding Materials In Teaching Reading Skill To EFL 12th Graders
    This research was conducted to investigate the effects of scaffolding materials on improving EFL 12th graders’ reading comprehension skills at Le Viet Thuat high school, Vinh city, Nghe An, Vietnam; and their attitudes towards the use of scaffolding materials in learning reading skills. A quasi-experimental research with quantitative method was used in this study 65 students of 12th grades at Le Viet Thuat high school were purposively chosen to participate in the research. They came from two intact classes. One class with 30 students was assigned to be a control group which was not taught through scaffolding materials and taught with traditional method; another class with 30 students was assigned to be an experimental group which was taught though graphic organizer as one of scaffolding materials. Three instruments included a pre-test, a post-test, and questionnaire. SPSS 20.0 was used to analyze data. The result showed that the students who were taught with scaffolding materials achieved better results in reading comprehension skills than the students who were not taught with scaffolding materials. The students also had positive attitudes towards scaffolding materials.
