    Using Dialogues As A Scaffolding Technique To Teach English Speaking Skills To EFL High School Students
    As an attempt to improve high school students’ EFL speaking ability, the current research employed dialogues as scaffolding techniques. Three different data sources (both quantitative and qualitative) were used: the pre-and post-questionnaire, the speaking pretest and posttest, and the student focus group interview to investigate the effects of using those dialogues on the local high school students’ speaking performance and engagement. The participants were 85 students (45 in the control group and 40 in the experimental group). One treatment was embedded in the current research. The primary difference between these groups was the use of technologyaided authentic dialogues in the second one. Findings revealed many positive effects of this speaking instructional techniques on the students’ speaking ability and their engagement in speaking classroom. Then a few recommendations were made for the current teaching and learning, as well as for future research.
