    Using Mind Mapping To Motivate 5th Graders’ To Learn English Vocabulary
    Mind mapping is known as a visual tool that can help to structure information, analyze, comprehend, synthesize, retrieve and create new ideas. Nowadays, the application of mind mapping has helped students to understanding the system of lectures and memorize the lessons. Therefore, this study aims to describe the use of mind mapping to motivate fifth graders at Dai son primary school. The study was carried about on an action research design: pre-test, post-test and questionnaire. Participants were forty students in class 5D consist of twenty one females and nineteen males. In order to collect ideas towards this research, an action research was conducted in ten weeks with two cycles. Each cycle has four steps: planning, acting, observing and reflecting. The findings of the data analysis showed that mind mapping can help students to improve their abilities in memorizing English and had positive attitudes toward the mind mapping. Furthermore, results of the post-test and questionnaire analysis indicate students successful in improving vocabulary retention with the implementation of the treatment. They seemed to highly value this teaching technique.
